CRUISE IN To St. Mark Chesterland

On July, 16, 2016, a gorgeous summer evening, St. Mark,  Chesterland Ohio, opened its parking lot to  car and truck enthusiasts   displaying  their vintage , Corvettes,  GTO’s , Semi’s,  and pick up trucks . Conversations revolved around carburetors and fellowship as St. Mark’s members put some action into their vision statement “Making Caring Connections in Our Community,” by connecting with  the car and truck loving community in Chesterland and beyond. Kirsten Zimmerman- Missionary to El Salvador

On Sunday, July 10th, Kirsten Zimmerman addressed the congregation of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chesterland about her work at Love & Hope Children’s Home in Santa Tecla, El Salvador. She told of the challenges and victories of the last 4 1/2 years, and updated St. Mark on the status of the children under her care. June Free Lunch

Special Thanks to Bada Bing Pizza and Catering for providing Pizza for the St. Mark July Community Lunch. In addition to the pizza, the St. Mark Womans League provided salads, fruit and home made desserts. Here is a picture gallery of the event thanks to Donna Robinson for the pictures

June Men’s Fellowship Breakfast

June men’s fellowship breakfast featured a short presentaion by Rev. Lud Golz. (click below to see more about Lud) http://www.gettinggodsmessage.org/meet_golz.html   the message was based on 2Peter 1:vs 1-11 and really hit home with a very practical application of our faith in daily living    

St. Mark Endowment Fund Kickoff

On May 21st at Generations Party Center a kickoff was held for the St. Mark Lutheran Endowment Fund.  Ron Meister, chairman of the St. Mark Endowment Fund was the master of ceremonies. Presentations were given by Eileen Fitzenreiter, Ohio District Gift Planning Coordinator for the LCMS foundation who spoke on “Peace Through Planning”, detailing strategies to help us “Give Back” to help continue the Lord’s work through estate planning. A Celebration of Mothers

On Saturday May 7, 2016 the St. Mark Women’s League sponsored a luncheon that celebrated mothers day. It was great to see all he moms and their kids. Entertainment was provided by the “Cordials”, a 4 part a cappella quartet

May Men’s Fellowship Breakfast

Speaker was Dean Carlo, Chardon Club Director,Greater Cleveland Campus Life. St. Mark’s mens fellowship meets at the Rise and Dine Cafe in Chesterland, on the first Saturday of the month  all are welcome. if it’s your first time attending, breakfast is on us

Congrats to the St. Mark Confirmands

Sunday May 1, 2016 St. Mark celebrated the confirmation of Lauren Dvorak and Chase Hickey. The two confirmands answered questions by Pastor Matzke at the 8:15  service and received communion at the 11:00 am service.

St. Mark serves at Building Hope in The City

On April 30,2106 a group of adults and youth boarded the St. Mark bus, soon to be know as Prayerforce  One,  and headed to downtown Cleveland to Building Hope In the City, an outreach to the community by Trinity Lutheran Church. St. Mark members cooked home made meatloaf and brought the meatloaves to the church. In addition to the meatloaves, St. Mark members donated clothing  for the Building Hope in the city clothing store and canned goods for their outreach pantry. All…
