Lent 2024

The theme of our Lenten series this year will be “Sermons from the Cross”.  Each week’s sermon will focus on the words of Jesus as they were preached from his most painful pulpit – the cross of Calvary.  Join us each Wednesday, beginning February 14th at either 11:30 or 7pm. 2/14:  “Father, Forgive Them” 2/21:  “Behold Your Mother” 2/28:  “You Will Be With Me in Paradise” 3/6:    “Eli, Eli, Lam Sabachthani” 3/13:  “I Thirst” 3/20:  “It is Finished”

Christmas at St. Mark

Make your plans now to attend either of our two Christmas Eve Festival services at 12pm or 5 pm. Each will feature a special Christmas Message and a candle lighting event to the hymn Silent Night. Christmas Day will feature a joyous Liturgical at 10 am.

Advent Worship Services

We can help you get into the Christmas spirit!   Attending Advent services will help build anticipation and excitement in your heart for the celebration of the birth of the Christ child.  We will be holding services in both the afternoon and evening on the following Wednesdays – 12/6, 12/13, and 12/20  at 11:30 am (traditional) and 7pm (contemporary). 

Thanksgiving Eve Worship

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.” Join us at 7 pm on Thanksgiving Eve in the St. Mark sanctuary to worship our Lord & Savior, Jesus, and start your holiday with a grateful heart

Back to Church Sunday

Sept. 17, 2023 is National Back to Church Sunday. St. Mark is participating! Invite a friend, relative, or neighbor, to church with you. They need Jesus Christ continually in their lives. If they don’t know who Jesus is, they will find out through the Good News that is proclaimed by Pastor Mark and Pastor Chris on Each Sunday. Wilson gave a presentation at the Education Hour in Fellowship Hall at 9:15 between services Pastor Wilson highlighted the services available through the Ohio District to local congregations. Congratulations Michael Hardy-Elwell Michael Richard Hardy-Elwell is the son of Heather Leigh Hardy and Richard Douglas Elwell. He was born in Willoughby, OH on March 19, 2009, and baptized at St. Paul Lutheran on May 24, 2009. Michael’s sponsors are Bill and Mandy Patterson. He will be attending Mentor High School in the fall and has participated in National Junior Honor Society and the Science Olympiad. Easter at St. Mark

HE IS RISEN !! HE IS RISEN INDEED !! Easter was spectacular at St. Mark. We had a well-attended, sunrise, liturgical service as well as festival services, with brass instruments, praise music, and organ music, at 9 am and 11 am. The St. Mark choir sang at the 9 am service. Holy Communion was celebrated at all 3 services. Welcome New Members

On December 4, 2022, St. Mark welcomed new members to our congregation! They were introduced to the congregation at both our 8:00 am and 10:15 services by Pastor Ken Welsh who teaches our “Life With God Class” a study for those wishing to investigate the teaching of the Lutheran Church and possibly wishing to become members. Congratulations Pastor Ryan

On Jan 16, 2022 Rev. Christopher Ryan was ordained as a Pastor serving at St. Mark. The ordination service at St. Mark was attended by area clergy, as well as Pastor Chris’s family friends and members of the St. Mark congregation. A banquet, catered by members of the congregation and sponsored by the St. Mark Women’s League immediately followed the ceremony. We are grateful to God for calling Pastor Chris to serve at St. Mark.
