Welcome New Members

On December 4, 2022, St. Mark welcomed new members to our congregation! They were introduced to the congregation at both our 8:00 am and 10:15 services by Pastor Ken Welsh who teaches our “Life With God Class” a study for those wishing to investigate the teaching of the Lutheran Church and possibly wishing to become members. Gift of the Magi Boutique-Recap

St. Mark members reached out to the communities we serve through our Christmas Boutique! Local merchants along with our St. Mark women’s league members displayed and sold one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts. Wendy Zimmerman, Praise team leader at St. Mark, provided live Christmas music. Scrumptious food was served, especially at the Friday night preview party. IT IS THE HOPE OF OUR MEMBERS AT ST. September Mens Breakfast

Thank You, Guido’s in downtown Chesterland for providing a venue for our monthly men’s breakfast. And thank you, Versare Café and Market across from Guido’s for providing a delicious breakfast. August Free Community Lunch

Who doesn’t like cookouts? The August St. Mark Women’s league’s monthly free community lunch featured hamburgers, hot dogs, coleslaw. mac and cheese, cake, and ice cream bars! Once again, the Chesterland and surrounding community is served by these awesome women. Meals were made to go for those that had someone at home who couldn’t make it in person. One of our ladies delivered lunches to our shut-ins. It is the hope of St. Mark that as we meet the needs…

Thank You Lutheran East High

St. Mark along with Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City hosts a monthly meal for those in need on the third Saturday of every month. Last Saturday, August 20, we were joined by students and faculty from Lutheran East High School, In addition to the delicious pulled pork sandwiches made by the St. Mark Women’s League, the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST WAS PROCLAIMED , both in word and by tracts given out by Trinity members.

Hamburgers and The Gospel

St. Mark members loaded up clothing for Trinity Lutheran’s clothing ministry and food staples for their food pantry and headed down to the cul-de-sac in front of the church to serve, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, homemade macaroni salad, popcorn, and cookies to people from the Ohio City neighborhood. Dave Onysko, proclaimed the Gospel and read Scripture to those in attendance. St. Mark serves these people every month on the third Saturday of the month. Join us for a fun rewarding experience.

St. Mark 4th of July Parade

As we do every year on the fourth of July, St. Mark Lutheran Church shares the Good News Of Jesus Christ through song at the Chesterland Parade, sponsored by the West Geauga Kiwanis. Wendy Zimmerman, Tim Holt, Leah Spisak, and Bryce Schill played and sang their favorite praise songs on the St. Mark float. Missionary Visit

On Sunday, June 5th, we welcomed to our Education Hour Gary and Sue Kessler, who are serving the Lord through The Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (LCMS) in Belize. In this role, Gary manages the LCMS’ construction projects in the country and coordinates the short-term teams that come to serve there. Meanwhile, Sue oversees religious education at Little Lambs Preschool in the Valley of Peace community and teaches English classes. Free Lunch and games

Wednesday, May 25th was a busy day at St. Mark!! The monthly free community lunch hosted by our Women’s League featured a barbecue with grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. Many people from the community attended, families, seniors, moms, and daughters, the fellowship was special. Speaking of fellowship, our fellowship board hosted our first game night in the fellowship hall on Wednesday evening. Card and board games were enjoyed by all, as well as desserts and popcorn.

St. Patrick’s Day Party -Trinity Lutheran

On Saturday, March 19, 2022, St. Mark members had a St. Patrick’s Day Party for those in need at Trinity Lutheran in Ohio city. Corn Beef and Cabbage was the enjoyed by all, along with a huge amount of cupcakes, home-made and decorated by St. Mark members.
