West Geauga Unity day 2024

St. Mark participated in the West Geauga Chamber of Commerce “Unity Day” on Sunday, August 25, 2024. The community event featured games, pickleball, a dunk tank, food trucks, over 40 merchant and community non-profits, plus much more. The event was held in the West Geauga High School parking lot and was well attended by Chesterland residents and residents of surrounding communities. outdoor Worship and Picnic

On June 30, 2024, the entire congregation plus guests met under the St. Mark Pavilion for an outdoor service. The overflow crowd ended up in the parking lot! The St. Mark Praise Team led by Wendy Zimmerman provided the music for the hymns and praise music. April Men’s breakfast

St. Mark’s monthly men’s breakfast was held on April 13, 2024, at The Coffee Post in downtown Chesterland. The small conference room was filled to the brim with the men from St. Mark. Sharing The Good News at Trinity Ohio City

On Saturday Feb 17, 2024, St. Mark members along side members of Trinity Lutheran Ohio City, (TOC) and St. Peter’s , Shaker Heights, served home made Chili and corn bread along with delicious white cake, decorated with bible verses, to the homeless and disadvantaged residents of the local neighborhood. Dec. Community Lunch

Each month, the ladies at St. Mark provide a free lunch for the Chesterland and neighboring communities. The lunch is always on the last Wednesday of the month. This month’s luncheon featured Spaghetti and Meatballs, salad and rolls Homemade cookies were also served, made by members of our congregation. See you in 2024 on January 31. Happy New Year!

Christmas Cards for Seniors

At St. Mark, on December 17th. We hand-made Christmas Cards to be distributed to the residents of Heather Hill Care Communities. It has been a long-standing Lutheran tradition for congregations to support their local nursing home and to bring the love of Christ to folks who are often lonely and can feel forgotten. All the materials were provided to make beautiful cards. Youngsters and oldsters participated. Special thanks to Marilyn Meyerholt, for organizing and providing the materials.

Thanksgiving at Trinity Lutheran

Members of St. Mark and Lutheran East High school provided Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless and disadvantaged people in the Ohio City neighborhood of Cleveland. The Social Hall next to Trinity Ohio City was the venue. Turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, rolls, and dessert were served to 60 people. With “to go” meals, 84 were served. Back to Church Sunday

Sept. 17, 2023 is National Back to Church Sunday. St. Mark is participating! Invite a friend, relative, or neighbor, to church with you. They need Jesus Christ continually in their lives. If they don’t know who Jesus is, they will find out through the Good News that is proclaimed by Pastor Mark and Pastor Chris on Each Sunday. August Men’s Breakfast

The St. Mark monthly men’s breakfast met at Coffee Works in downtown Chesterland on Au. 12, 2023. The accommodations were tight due to the large attendance, but we managed to sit elbow to elbow and enjoyed fellowship and a presentation by St. Mark member David Greishammer.
