Project Leader:  debbie.turk@yahoo.com

Our congregation began supporting this ministry during the COVID pandemic and we take great joy in it.  This non-denominational ministry  sends gift-filled shoeboxes to children around the world who are living in poverty, as a tangible way to demonstrate God’s love and as an opening to share the Gospel with them.

Volunteer Opportunities

•Pack one or more shoeboxes as a family or individual during our annual Fall in-gathering.

•Help set up and maintain our OCC “Give/Take” table where items are shared across our members.

• Help at our annual OCC “Packing” party.

•Transport shoeboxes to the area drop-off center.

Steppin out Missions (SOM)

Project Leader:  dmrobinson2@gmail.com

We were introduced to this ministry through one of our members, Donna, who has close family that joined this group in 2005 to help after Hurricane Katrina.  Steppin Out is a faith-based, non-denominational group that partners with like-minded ministries, (ex. Samaritan’s Purse) on building and construction needs in the U.S. and abroad – often disaster relief.  Their goal is not just the physical task of construction, but also on building relationships with the people that they help and sharing the Gospel.

Volunteer Opportunities

•Please reach out to Donna to inquire about their needs.

Love and Hope Children’s Home in El Salvador.

Project Leader:  kirsten.leigh.zimmerman@gmail.com

We began supporting this ministry in 2013 when one of our long-time members, Kirsten, became a full-time missionary at Love & Hope and she needed to raise her own support.  Although she no longer works there, we strongly believe in their mission which is to care for orphaned, abused, abandoned and neglected children by sharing the love of Jesus in a family setting.
