Happy Birthday Nancy

On Sunday Oct. 2, 2016, Nancy Johnson was honored at a party at St. Mark Lutheran Church for a milestone birthday! We won’t say exactly how old Nancy is, but the word octogenarian was whispered about. Nancy has been a beloved member of  St. Mark church for 50 years. September Community Lunch

Every Month the Womens League at St.Mark sponsors a community lunch that is free to the public. This months lunch was special because for the first time, the church bus, known as Prayerforce One picked up a number of people at the Geauga Senior Center located in Chesterland and brought them to the lunch. The next community lunch is Wednesday Oct. 26 2016 Trick or Treat here are some pics from the lunch

“It Was A Real Nice Clambake”

Fellowship at St. Mark is an important part of our Christian walk together. Sat. September 24 was the St. Mark annual clambake. Like the song, “It was a real nice clambake” from the musical Carousel, it was a real great time . Great Things Are Happening – St. Mark Youth

Great things are happening… The weekly Jr. High and High School Youth Group is starting on October 16 at 6:00 p.m. and we need your help. Do you have a passion to walk beside the youth and support and guide them through these teen years? Can you help pour into them the simple message that God loves them – no matter how they see themselves? Can you help guide them as they make caring and supportive connections with each other…

Serving ” Brats” at Building Hope In The City

This Saturday, Sept. 17,we loaded our church bus known as PRAYERFORCE ONE with brats, buns, mac and cheese, and cupcakes and headed to Building Hope In The City, the local outreach of Trinity Lutheran on Cleveland’s near west side. We also brought canned foods and clothing collected by the St. Mark congregation. The clothing was especially welcome as people were looking towards winter. 2016 St. Mark “This and That Sale”

On Sept. 9th and 10th , St. Mark held it’s annual “This and That” rummage sale. The event took up the entire church , sans the sanctuary, including some of the front lawn. Bargains galore, including pianos,organs, board games, and various items. The money from the sale helps sponsor many of the mission activities at St. Mark. It also the hope at St. Mark that by having people from the community visit St. Mark that we might serve them spiritually when…

September Men’s Fellowship Breakfast

The men of St. Mark Chesterland, get together once a month for fellowship at Rise and Dine cafe in Chesterland to listen to speakers on various subjects. September’s breakfast featured Rev. Powell Woods who spoke on law and Gospel. The next breakfast is at Rise and Dine on October 8th.  9 am until a little after 10. August Community Lunch

Sloppy Joes were the main dish this month at the St.Mark “Feed the Flock” community free lunch. Thanks to the wonderful ladies of our women’s league as the serve in many ways. On the last Wednesday of every month, St. Mark opens the doors of our fellowship hall to the surrounding community inviting all to a community lunch at St. Mark. St. Mark Picnic

After the 9:45 service on Sunday August 28, 2016, the St. Mark congregation gathered under the Pavilion behind the church for the St. Mark annual picnic.  As with most Lutheran functions, a meal was the center of attention. Thanks to St. Mark member Cheryl Lee and Mason & Healey Services for officially putting the name and contact information on St. Mark church bus.
