June Men’s Breakfast
Rise and Dine Diner in downtown Chesterland is a happening place. It’s also the location for the monthly St. Mark men’s breakfast. Each month the men of St. Mark meet for an informal breakfast and listen to a short presentation from various speakers from all walks of life. May Free Community Lunch at St. Mark
A beautiful sunny last day of May, 2017 was the setting for the monthly St. Mark Free Community Lunch. Chef Meister grilled hamburgers and hot dogs and the ladies of the St. Mark Women’s league served sides of delicious potato salad and watermelon. Summer Schedule Begins June 4, 2017
Summer Worship Schedule Beginning June 4, 2017 There will be two worship services each Sunday. 8:15 a.m. will continue to be the traditional service; 9:45 a.m. will alternate between The Gathering and the contemporary service. The 9:45 a.m. service on June 4 will be the Gathering format.
A Weekend of Plants and Fairy Gardens at St. Mark
Friday night, May 19, 2017 , St. Mark hosted the annual plant sale preview party with a silent auction and a Chinese auction . Pastor Mark did great job as MC.. The venue featured great food & beautiful plants. It was a rainy evening so the Classic Car Show was cancelled. Saturday, the plant sale continued with sunny skies. “Tweets for the Garden” ( St. Mark preview party for the annual plant sale) will be held Friday evening, May 19th, from 7:00pm -9:30pm. Tickets for this adult only event are $10.00 per person and include beer or wine, hors d’oeuvres and punch. Featured are donated items from our members, area nurseries and garden centers –all with a garden and/or bird theme. March Community Lunch
On the last Wednesday of every month the St. Mark Women’s League sponsors a free community lunch. This month’s lunch was well attended on a beautiful, sunny spring day. Pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and cheese, salad an deserts were the lunch of the day. Easter Baskets for Foster Kids
Every Year St. Mark prepares Easter Baskets as gifts for kids in foster families through Geauga Jobs and Family Services. This Year we have prepared well over 100 baskets. Monica McGurer who co-ordinates this effort, brings empty baskets to church and church members take them home and fill them. Each basket is unique and hand filled by St. Mark members. Family Style at Building Hope In The City
On March 25, 2017, a team from St. Mark boarded the church bus, “Prayer Force One” and headed to Building Hope In The City (BHIC), the urban outreach of Trinity Lutheran Church on the near west side of Cleveland.
