Pastor Bob will give the message at the 8:00 am and 10:15 am services and answer questions during our Bible study time between services.
Pastor Bob Weinhold will be our guest preacher on Sunday, June 21. He is here on behalf of a nondenominational Christian organization called Food for the Poor. Food for the Poor has been helping the poorest of the poor in 17 Caribbean and Latin American countries for more than 40 years. God has blessed this ministry through the generosity of many Christian donors to become one of the largest not for profit service organizations in the country with over $800 million of goods and services distributed every year.
Pastor Weinhold has been a lifelong member of the Missouri Synod and a pastor in the LC-MS since he was ordained in 1983. Since ordination he has served five congregations in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa and Illinois. He retired in 2018 and he and his wife, Lisa, have returned to Iowa where they live outside of Dubuque. They have been blessed with three children. Two of them have married and they have four sons between the two families. The Weinholds love pulling their trailer to their favorite place, a campground in Dubois,
WY outside of Yellowstone.
Pastor Weinhold had been involved with Food for The Poor during his last parish ministry in Sycamore, Illinois and had gone on two mission trips with them to Guatemala and Haiti. Pastor Weinhold has also been to India, Haiti a second time, and Belize serveral times with other organizations. Since retiring he has gone to Honduras with Food for The Poor. Since 2019 he has joined the speakers bureau of FFTP and now preaches in LC-MS congregations exclusively on behalf of this ministry. He is happy to be here at the expense of Food for The Poor to share the opportunity to care for the poorest of the poor.
