January Men’s Breakfast
On January 4, 2020, the men St. Mark held their monthly breakfast. This first men’s breakfast of the new year was a changing of the guard. For the first time in 12 years, Ron Cudnik and Pastor Ken Welsh were not the organizers. Bruce Robinson and Ron Meister have taken on the responsibility of organizing the men’s breakfast. A St.Mark – Trinity Lutheran Christmas
On December 21, 2019, members of St. Mark joined in a caravan of cars led by the St. Mark church bus “Prayer Force One” to Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City to hold a joint Chrismas Party for the homeless and needy. St. Mark members collected hygiene supplies over the previous 3 weeks and members of the Tuesday Morning Bible study at St. Mark assembled them in Christmas gift bags. December Community Lunch
On the last Wednesday of each month St. Mark hosts a delicious lunch for all that wish to attend at a special price. FREE !! Happy Birthday, Jesus!
Sunday, Dec. 15 at St. Mark featured a birthday party at the St. Mark Sunday school, including Christmas Carols, fun and games a beautifully decorated cake and reading out loud of the story of the birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from the bible, students took turns reading. Gift of the Magi Boutique 2019
The Ladies at St. Mark transformed the hallways, library and fellowship hall into a magical Christmas boutique. On Friday and Saturday on the second weekend in November 2019. Christmas shoppers from Northeast Ohio, gathered at St. Mark to purchase beautiful, unique handcrafted items, from Christmas trees made from old hand saws to warm knitted hats and scarfs. Rise and Dine Cafe in Downtown Chesterland has been the home of the “St. Mark Men’s Breakfast” for more than 10 years. St. Mark September Rewind
September was a busy month at St. Mark. After Labor Day we resumed our 3 services, Sunday 8:15 AM, 9:45 AM, and 11:00 AM. Vicar Chris Ryan had his official installation at St. Mark on September 8th. Vicar Ryan continues his studies through the Specific Ministry Program at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis Missouri. The annual St. Mark “This and That” sale was also in early September. Well Done Ken Welsh and Sue Brill
This summer marked 2 significant milestones at St. Mark. Pastor Ken Welsh, Associate Pastor and Treasurer Sue Brill retired from their respective positions at St. Mark. Both members of St. Mark for over 50 years, Pastor Ken and Sue have and will continue to joyfully serve at St. Mark. New Member Welcome Breakfast
On Sunday, July 28, 2019, St. Mark welcomed nine new members into their fellowship. They were recognized at the 9:30 service and were treated to a breakfast provided by the St. Mark Women’s league. The breakfast was attended by both St. Mark Pastors, Pastor Matzke, and Pastor Welsh as well as Deacon Chris Ryan. Many of the elders and church officers were at breakfast to welcome the new members.
