Easter Baskets for Foster Kids

Easter Baskets for Foster Kids

Every Year St. Mark prepares Easter Baskets as gifts for kids in foster families through Geauga Jobs and Family Services. This Year we have prepared well over 100 baskets. Monica McGurer who co-ordinates this effort, brings empty baskets to church and church members take them home and fill them. Each basket is unique and hand filled by St. Mark members. Monica loads them in a vehicle and takes them to Geauga Jobs and Family Services for distribution.

filled baskets ready to be delivered

Monica wanted me to pass along this message to our St. Mark Family:

“Please everyone that still has an Easter Basket that you haven’t returned this is the “LAST” Sunday that you can return your basket. Monica will be delivering them during the week of April 2nd. So we have an accurate count even if you have not had time to fill your basket please bring the empty basket back anyway we can use the basket for next year.

We have approximately 30 baskets that haven’t been returned yet. If you still want to donate your basket and forget to bring it on Sunday you can deliver it to Job and Family Service on Ravenwood Dr. in Chardon next to Geauga UH Hospital.

And again Thank You to all who helped get the baskets ready to be filled and all of you very generous people that contributed to our Easter Basket Mission.”
