Pastor Mark Matzke, Senior Pastor at St. Mark, was chosen by the officials of the Chesterland Memorial Day Event to give the invocation and concluding prayer, this Memorial Day at the township cemetery on Chillicothe Rd.
Rev. George Zehnder, former Pastor at St. Mark, took on the character of a Revolutionary Army person for the event. Pastor Zehnder has been active in locating the graves of Revolutionary soldiers buried in the Chesterland area and decorating their graves
The event featured participation by many organizations and officials from Chester Township and was well attended by township residents.
We are grateful for the service of all who have protected our freedoms through many wars. The names of those who gave their lives from Chester township from the Revolutionary War to the present were read.
