May men’s breakfast

On Saturday, May 4th, the men of St. Mark gathered at the Rise and Dine Cafe in downtown Chesterland. As usual, a delicious breakfast was served by the Rise and Dine staff. The Rev. Happy Birthday -African Refugees

On Saturday, Mar. 23, a team from St. Mark boarded “Prayer Force One” the church bus and headed to Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City to celebrate the birthdays of the African Refugees in Trinity’s Refugee Outreach program. St. Mark members had baked cupcakes and the team served a chicken dinner to these refugees who are primarily from the Congo and Rwanda. St. Mark Women’s Retreat 2019

On Saturday, March 16, 2019, the St. Mark Women’s League held their annual retreat. The event was open to all women, not just St. Mark members. The Reverend Mark Matzke, Pastor at St. Mark gave the opening presentation, highlighting the theme, “Let God Be Your GPS.” A number of speakers presented during the day followed by discussion sessions. Lunch was served. It was a delightful day for all that attended.

2019 Chilli Cook Off

The 2019 version of the St. Mark Annual Chilli cook off is in the books. Over 10 entries were sampled by a hungry group of all ages. The winner Lucas Zelznick a young man in the St. Mark pre confirmation  class won  best tasting competition.. Congrats Lucas.  Mark Rychel, took the most creative prize. Jan. 2019 Mens’ Breakfast

The 2019 mens’ breakfast started off with an interesting discussion about Spiritual Resolutions. Ron Meister, long time member and past president started the discussion by mentioning some possible resolutions and the group chimed in with a number of their own. Christmas Community Lunch

On Dec. 19, The Ladies of St. Mark opened the doors of the St. Mark Fellowship Hall to the people of the surrounding communities for their month FREE fellowship luncheon Rigatoni with meatballs , salad and Christmas cookies were enjoyed by all. Nov. Community Lunch

Turkey Casserole was the main course at the Nov.  St. Mark community lunch. The hearty seniors from the West Geauga Senior center boarded “Prayer Force One” the St. Mark Church bus  and joined the attendees from many local communities to enjoy great food and friendly conversation. October Community Lunch

Halloween was the day of the monthly free community lunch at St. Mark. The ladies of the congregation donned masks and served the residents of Chesterland and surrounding community. Soup was the fare of the day, plus salad, corn bread  and some scrumptious desserts. Note the Geauga County Library Fun Bus was visiting the St. Mark Preschool. St. Mark has a free luncheon the last Wednesday each month. November 28th is the next linch.
