May Community Lunch Cook Out

On the last Wednesday of EVERY month St. Mark hosts a community free lunch for the communities surrounding St. Mark. May’s lunch featured a cook-out with hamburgers and hot dogs prepared on the St. Mark Grill at the entranceway to the church. Fellowship hall featured additional goodies, potato salad, watermelon and cookies baked by the St. Mark members. Education Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

On Monday, May 6th, the Board of Education at St. Mark held a volunteer appreciation dinner to recognize those that have had an impact on the youth at St. Mark over the past school year. Deacon Chris Ryan, head of the St. Mark Board of Education thanked all those in attendance. The event featured a lively, white elephant, gift auction along with unofficial Martin Luther currency, thanks to Kim Ryan.

Easter baskets-geauga Job and Family Services

The members of St. Mark filled over 170 Easter Baskets and loaded them on “Prayer Force One ” and took them to the office of Geauga County Job and Family Services to be distributed to childern in Geauga County. Many thanks to Giant Eagle Supermarket for their donation of baskets to help us with this outreach.

Happy Birthday -African Refugees

On Saturday, Mar. 23, a team from St. Mark boarded “Prayer Force One” the church bus and headed to Trinity Lutheran in Ohio City to celebrate the birthdays of the African Refugees in Trinity’s Refugee Outreach program. St. Mark members had baked cupcakes and the team served a chicken dinner to these refugees who are primarily from the Congo and Rwanda. 2019 Chilli Cook Off

The 2019 version of the St. Mark Annual Chilli cook off is in the books. Over 10 entries were sampled by a hungry group of all ages. The winner Lucas Zelznick a young man in the St. Mark pre confirmation  class won  best tasting competition.. Congrats Lucas.  Mark Rychel, took the most creative prize. October Community Lunch

Halloween was the day of the monthly free community lunch at St. Mark. The ladies of the congregation donned masks and served the residents of Chesterland and surrounding community. Soup was the fare of the day, plus salad, corn bread  and some scrumptious desserts. Note the Geauga County Library Fun Bus was visiting the St. Mark Preschool. St. Mark has a free luncheon the last Wednesday each month. November 28th is the next linch.

Vacation Bible School 2018

St. Mark Lutheran Chesterland Ohio, invited the children in the surrounding communities to Splash Canyon, the theme for the 2018 Vacation Bible School. From the exciting white water rafting in the main church entrance way to the rocks and waterfall in the church sanctuary, the young people learned about Jesus through song, stories, crafts and videos. St. Mark Picnic 2018

On June 3, 2018,  the members of St. Mark met in our sanctuary for one service at 10:am. The sanctuary was full as our voices razed the roof in song and we as brothers and sisters in Christ participated in the Sacrament of the Altar (Communion). Planting the Fun in FUNdraising

St. Mark Women’s League has three major fundraisers each year. The Spring Plant Sale,   The Fall “This and That Sale”and the Gift of the Magi Boutique. Last weekend, starting on Friday May 18 and continuing through Sunday, St. Mark  opened their doors to the community for an opportunity to put some Spring in their yards by purchasing plantable plants and hanging baskets. 12th Annual Mothers Day Luncheon

On Saturday May 12, 2018 the women of St. Mark got together in the St. Mark Fellowship Hall for the 12th annual Mothers Day Luncheon.  This years theme, “A fun look at fashion from Victorian Times to present.” Thanks to Donna Toth for the pictures
